    Our client based in Ash Vale is looking for a Materials Expediter to co-ordinate the activities and resources of the Materials Control function

    Responsibilities will include:

     To place PO’s and ensure adherence to delivery schedules in line with production requirements, supplier lead times, lean manufacturing procedures and Stores/Warehousing capacity (inventory level control).
     Pro-actively inform Production about any overdue deliveries by daily progress chasing.
     Close liaison is essential with different departments to ensure manufacturing demands are met.
     Liaise with Logistics Manager to resolve any booking in and stock issues/discrepancies
     Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and Accounts Department
     To keep the Supply Chain Manager informed on poor performance of suppliers and supplier price increases
     Assist in facilities management.

    Experience and Skills required:

    • Relevant Material Controller/Supply Chain experience in the manufacturing/engineering/automotive industry sectors is essential
     Good communication skills
     Excellent time management skills
     Numerate with good analytical skills
     Good PC skills, confident with use of MRP/ERP systems and spreadsheets
     Able to drive the continuous improvement of business processes and methods towards a lean operational environment
     Educated to a minimum of GSCE level or equivalent with relevant subjects taken, e.g. maths, computing, engineering
